Valentine Mini Pizza

Recipe

Valentine Mini Pizza
This will get the whole family in the loving spirit
Ingredients:

1 (10-ounce) tube refrigerated pizza dough

Cornmeal

Olive oil

Pizza sauce

Pizza cheese

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Sprinkle some corn meal on your work surface.

Unroll pizza dough onto work surface and pat or use rolling pin to slightly flatten dough.

Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut the pizza dough.

Place the hearts on a cookie sheet.

Brush each one with olive oil.

Bake in preheated 350-degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes, until golden brown.

Spread pizza sauce on each warm heart. Sprinkle with cheese. Return to oven and bake just until cheese melts. Sometimes I put them under the broiler and watch them very closely until the cheese melts.

Serve immediately.

Sue's Tips:

For breakfast Valentine pizzas, spread each heart with some salsa, add scrambled eggs and sprinkle with your favorite cheese. Finish as for the traditional valentine pizzas.

I like to serve the little hearts just sprinkled with good sea salt or truffle salt and serve them with wine or cocktails.

With dough that remains after cutting the pizza hearts, use smaller heart-shape cookie cutters and cut out more dough. Brush the hearts with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar. Bake until golden. Serve warm for a sweet breakfast treat or with a cup of tea.
